TCI Global Logistics is hiring a Senior Carrier Procurement Manager on our Brokerage team!
The Senior Carrier Procurement Manager will source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner and manage a team of Carrier Procurement Representatives to maintain and grow those relationships as well as replicate your actions.
The Senior Carrier Procurement Manager will lead all initiatives around new carrier development and carrier interactions to add additional capacity to the TCI network.

7am-4pm
Core Roles and Responsibilities
- Cultivate strong core carrier relationships while negotiating and securing carriers to move all internal and external customer’s freight.
- Utilizes carrier network to help create pricing solutions for account managers and sales teams that are aligned with company targets.
- Updates TCI regarding areas of strong buying power in order to coordinate sales efforts.
- Manages team to ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary.
- Manages carrier vetting/onboarding while maintaining TCI standards are met for carrier selection.
- Manages a team that schedules pickup and delivery appointment times; uses discretion and insight when considering all factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, miles, service rules, etc.
- Accurately maintains and updates information in the company's operating systems.
- Follows established procedures and protocols regarding DOT/FMCSA and local regulations and ethical business practices in freight brokerage.
- Conduct research in available databases and systems for potential leads; make cold calls to prospective new carriers.
- Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier charges are accurate and that carrier documents are received in a timely manner.
- The position will lead team meetings and discussions to achieve operational and customer service driven goals.
- Employee will have discretion and independent judgement.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of trucking principles and practices and the fundamentals of transportation.
- Strong administration, organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office.
- A high level of business ethics and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The flexibility and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
Additional Requirements
- 7 years+ of Transportation experience in brokering freight is required.
- McLeod software experience is a plus.
- Inside sales or account management experience within the transportation industry is preferred.
- Strong work ethic and self-driven.
- Confident decision-making skills and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook is preferred.
- College degree is a plus.
